Its’ been a little while since I last posted here at the Kenya Holidays 4u Blog as things have been pretty busy, as you can imagine.

Sadly the troubles in Kenya have slowed down bookings over the last few weeks as people waited to see what was going to happen.

Well, to put you in the picture we have only had one departure cancelled which was obviously a real disappointment for our clients due to travel. However, this current departure, which flies today, is going ahead as normal. Our clients were offered the choice of cancelling their Kenya holiday and rebooking for another destination but only one has actually done so and our other clients will be flying out as I write this post.

Our friends Luke and Josh are still out at the Nyali Beach Hotel in Mombasa and have been there throughout the last few weeks and are safe and well and having a marvellous time and hopefully our clients flying out today will do so also.

I’ve just returned from a few days on the Masai Mara and on our second morning’s game drive we came across a family of cheetahs who had just made a kill. We missed the actual chase but as cheetahs can accelerate from 0 - 100kph in three seconds it seems pretty likely that we may have missed it if we had stopped to blink!

I’ve just come across a fascinating 12 day Tanzanai trip, “Cheetahs of the Serengeti”, run in conjunction with the Zoological Society of London (ZSL). Travelling through the Arusha and Tarangire national parks and the legendary Ngorongoro crater, the tour arrives at the Serengeti, where visitors will spend time with a ZSL researcher tracking the world’s fastest land animals.

Departures are on 29th January and 4th Novermber 2008 only and cost £2,995 per person.

Our daughter Sophie and her boyfriend Chris are keen kitesurfers and have travelled quite extensively throughout the world to enjoy the sport.

One of their close friends, Luke, has just taken up a 3 month kitesurf teaching post at the Nyali Beach Hotel in Mombasa and we’re looking forward to getting some great photographs back from him soon that we will post here on the blog.

Sorry for the delay in publishing the first Kenya Holidays Podcast.

I’m in the middle of bringing together the various sound files I created whilst on safari on the Masia Mara and its’ just taking me a little longer than I anticipated. But, hopefully it will be posted here by the end of this week.

In the meantime I recorded the 4th episode of the Nile Cruise Podcast which should be up and available on our Nile Cruise website by the end of the day tomorrow, (the 11th).

I’ve finally added the last of the photographs I took last week when I was staying at the Sarova Masai Lodge on the Masai Mara.

I’m still working on creating the videos as my video camera decided to give up the ghost when I returned and I now have 4 hours worth of video cassette that I cant’ actually edit at present. So I’m searching eBay for a replacement and as soon as I have a new camera I’ll upload them here and to the main Kenya Holidays website.
