Kenya Sounds
Whilst visiting Kenya I created a number of sound recordings that attempt to capture the atmosphere of this wonderful country. I’m adding them slowly to this page and if you click on the individual recordings below hopefully you’ll get a feel for what I experienced.
For anyone interested I used a ZOOM H2 Digital Sound Recorder which is a brilliant piece of kit. It’s small and portable and gives professional quality recordings for a really great price.
My tip would be if you are using the ZOOM H2 to record outdoors as I did is to ensure you use the wind cover that you get with the recorder to avoid wind noise. When I recorded most of these clips I thought there was hardly any wind at all yet the ZOOM H2’s built-in mikes picked up wind noise that I couldnt even hear. That’s how sensitive the mikes are.
Anyway I hope you enjoy these sound clips as I add them and they give you a sense of what it’s like to be on safari on the Masai Mara.
