A colleague of mine recently persuaded two clients of her’s to reconsider cancelling their forthcoming holiday to Kenya after
explaining to them how important it was to support the Kenyan people and to help restore the vibrant tourism industry that is so
important to Kenya and its’ population.

She was delighted to hear from them whilst on holiday. Speaking from their lodge on the Masia Mara her clients, Ann and Tony Gregan, said “We are so glad we made the trip. It has been a wonderful experience. We saw flamingos at Lake Nakuru and hippos at Lake Naivasha and there was absolutely no sign of any trouble. The best thing has been the cheerfulness and sense of humour of the people we are meeting”.

They went on to thank my colleague for convincing them to travel and hoped that more people would join them in helping to restore the badly hit tourism industry on which so many Kenya people and their families depend for the livelihoods.

I read this week several interviews with Kenyan’s who work in the tourist industry and they all expressed their fervent hope that UK tourists will support them and return to Kenya soon.

One worker from Timboni finished by saying, “When the first tourist bus drives down the road there will be a parade of people waving and cheering”.

There has probably been no better time to holiday in Kenya than at this moment with great prices being offered for both beach holidays and safaris so please look out for the latest offers on our Kenya Holidays website or please feel free to call us on Freephone 0808 1089 100.

We were so pleased to read about the peace agreement signed last Thursday between the two political parties in Kenya.

Lets’ hope that tourists will now start to visit Kenya once again in great numbers to see and experience this amazing destination.

Apparently a new-born rhino has been born on the Masai Mara and named after Kofi Anan, the key negotiator in the peace settlement.

The new government has stated its’ commitment to increasing tourism to Kenya.

I last visited Kenya in November and cannot wait to go back with my family and experience once again the fabulous hospitality of the Kenyan people and be amazed by its’ wonderful wildlife.

Luxury Safari HolidaysHow about this for a luxury safari?

Every now and then I come across a destination that just takes your breath away and yesterday I read** about a brand new luxury safari lodge in Tanzania in the heart of Tanzania’s Selous Game Reserve. The Kiba Point camp.

(Selous is the largest game park in Africa, an undisturbed 19,000 square mile chunk of rivers, lagoons and bush. It’s also one of the rare African parks to permit walking safaris).

Kiba Point visitors can hike from four stone-and-thatch cottages through dried up riverbeds to stalk elephants, crocs and any of the reserve’s other 400 native species without the distractions of four wheel drives. When the safari’s over you can cool off in a private plunge pool with a sundowner drink in hand!!

Kiba Point only books exclusively (a gropu of ten rents it out at once) at a cost of $5000 per night, all-inclusive for ten people.

Luxury, expensive - but sounds great!! For more details about bookings to Kiba Point please call us on Freephone 0808 1089 100

Well, we’re in a strange position at the moment. Some people are travelling on their Kenya holidays, one or two people are thinking that they should cancel their planned holiday and yet we have others who are still booking Kenya holidays.

On Saturday we had a booking from some people who said that they felt it was important, if you were planning to holiday in Kenya, to do so now in order to support the people of this wonderful country.

I know everyone wont’ feel the same but certainly such support will go a long way to help Kenya recover from this crisis.

We’ve been advised that this weekend some operators are flying as normal and some opertors are not flying this weekend so it seems to be a real muddle at the moment.

What a shame that this beautiful country and its’ lovely people are caught up in this turmoil and confusion.

Obviously the sooner that this situation is resolved the better so that tourists can once again enjoy the beauty of this wonderful country.

Its’ been a little while since I last posted here at the Kenya Holidays 4u Blog as things have been pretty busy, as you can imagine.

Sadly the troubles in Kenya have slowed down bookings over the last few weeks as people waited to see what was going to happen.

Well, to put you in the picture we have only had one departure cancelled which was obviously a real disappointment for our clients due to travel. However, this current departure, which flies today, is going ahead as normal. Our clients were offered the choice of cancelling their Kenya holiday and rebooking for another destination but only one has actually done so and our other clients will be flying out as I write this post.

Our friends Luke and Josh are still out at the Nyali Beach Hotel in Mombasa and have been there throughout the last few weeks and are safe and well and having a marvellous time and hopefully our clients flying out today will do so also.

Please feel free to call either myself or Barbara on our Freephone number 0808 1089 100 for any more information on forthcoming Kenya holiday departures.
